About

I've spent nearly thirty years building software for UK financial services — wealth management platforms, in domains where the regulator eventually asks what you did and why.

I co-founded Wealth Dynamix in 2012 and spent six years as CTO while it grew to over one hundred people. Later I started Portemis, where I architected a new product that was eventually acquired by Wealth Dynamix. I rejoined as senior architect to take technical ownership of it — architecture, Azure, DevOps, reliability, observability and the messy cross-cutting problems that don't fit neatly into anyone else's box. Wealth Dynamix itself was later acquired by a major European investment bank in 2025.

Since July 2026 I've been building Cairn - https://cairnriver.io, an evidence layer for regulated work. It records what was done, why, and when, so a team can show the process they followed months or years later. Reviews, checks, approvals, exceptions — work where the record matters more than the artefact.
